Bodies of Water - Download new song: 'Like A Stranger'

The splendiferous Bodies of Water have gifted us another new song from their soon to be released new album 'Twist Again'. The song is called 'Just Like a Stranger' and the album is out on June 21st. Love the brass in this song, I seem to have developed an affinity for songs with brass accompaniments as of late. Anyway, it's awesome, download/stream your copy here.

Also, here's a video from the Bodies of Water website of their dog 'Wendy The Spirit' giving a short but sweet performance on a piano.

End of the Road Festival 2011

We are now the proud owners of 2 tickets to the End of the Road festival 2011. Yay! This will be our 3rd time visiting the lovely Larmer Tree gardens in Dorset giving us an excuse to dust down our camping gaz stove, wheel out the air bed and pray for nice weather. Some of the artists I'm looking forward to seeing are Beirut, Midlake, Wild Beasts, Tune-Yards, Kurt Vile, Austra, Bob Log III, Woods and I'm hoping to be bedazzled by lots more. Here's the line up.

Here's where you can buy your tickets and find out more such as dates, facilities etc. I highly recommend this gem of a festival. If none of the bands interest you at least come for the legendary hot spicy cider bus and gorgeous surroundings (includes strutting peacocks).  I don't know of any other festivals like End of the Road.  Put it in your diary.

"You Yes You" -Tune-Yards perform for Yours Truly

Love this.  Tuneyards performing "You Yes You" for Yours Truly.  The interview at the beginning is about where their latest album name W H O K I L L originates. Such a creative and exciting band, can't wait to see them live on June 8th at The Scala (tickets here).

New Bodies of Water - "Open Rhythms"

It's good to hear Bodies of Water are going to be releasing a new album shortly.  This has been my favourite news as of late.  The album is called 'Twist Again' and a sneaky track called 'Open Rhythms' has been released via Stereogum.  The Sterogum link wasn't working for me so might be worth trying GorillavsBear who also have the mp3 streaming here.

On another note, last night a friend and I found a fantastic space for holding smallish concerts.  I'm trying to put my thinking cap on to figure out what I can make possible but the long and short of it is that it's free, there's a cheap and decent bar, helpful and interesting staff and it's brimming with creative souls who use lots of the rooms there as studios. Let's see what comes next. It's great when you find nice friendly unusual places in London.
