It's a busy and hot week in the capital, the grass in Hyde Park is starting to look very similar to the baselines at Wimbledon, brown and worn out. I really enjoyed the Hard Rock Calling Festival there last Saturday the only downside being the extortionate price for food and drinks. The amount of money those food vans make is ridiculous. I worked a couple of days in one many years ago before I went to university when I was desperate for holiday money and can remember serving Big Ron from Eastenders a large bag of chips, I gave him extra because he was Big Ron.

I have a huge amount of sympathy for the nice people who work in those vans, probably on the minimum wage, the bosses are not often nice people and if you think this weather is hot, you don't know hot till you've stood in one of those hell holes for 10 hours - honestly sticking your head in the fridge is the only relief, you find yourself fantasizing about hugging ice burgs etc. To anyone doing that job - you have my sympathies.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, ever wondered how goths deal with the summer heat? I've just seen a website that has all the answers, it's called gothsinhotweather SEE HERE.

Whether you're a Goth or Fast Food van worker or neither, I hope you have a good week and find lots of ways to keep cool.
