Today I'm happy to introduce interview #5 of the 'Music Lives On The Internet' series.
For those of you who haven't read one of these before, this is a regular slot where I interview fellow music bloggers/lovers to give you the reader a chance to hear about new bands, good music blogs, great venues and their views on the music business.
Name (or pseudonym for the shy): beth & howard
Blog Name: lonesomemusic (http://lonesomemusic.blogspot.com/)
What is your blog is about?
lonesome music. If you want a bit more detail lonesomemusic is the continuation of a lifetime's conversation between a brother and sister that costs a lot less that the phone calls and postage ever used to. We look for emotional impact in songs that we think each other will like. These tend to be by either Americana or Folk bands/singers. Although we listen to everything that comes our way as we're both ex-indie kids we do stray from this occasionally.
What started you blogging?
lonesomemusic started August 2004
First record you bought?
beth - can't remember although I recall having All About Eve shoplifted to order by a friend.
howard - I bought Blood & Chocolate by Elvis Costello & the Attractions for £1.99 in Ramsgate Woolworths, a few weeks later I doubled the size of my collection and got A Hatful of Hollow (or The Smiths Greatest Hits as it's known in my house) from the same shop for a whopping £4.99.
Last piece of music that got your heart racing?
beth -'the cutter' by echo and the bunnymen
howard - 'tallis fantasia' by Vaughn Williams
Last gig that made you say "Wow"?
beth - fleet foxes
howard - I don't get to many gigs these days
Where do you find out about new music?
beth - howard, friends, emails
howard - beth, friends, the Guardian, amazon, emails
What would you like to see more of in the music world?
beth - yodelling, handclaps, flutes, skiffle
howard - beards, recorders and children's choirs joining in on the last chorus
Favourite music venue?
beth - city varieties in Leeds - you can get your pint in and sit down
howard - Union Chapel Islington, anywhere with memories of Mazzy Star, Mojave 3, Spiritualized an Mark Eitzel just can't be beaten.
Favourite music store?
beth - miles of music (online)
howard - I try to buy from the artists direct if I can, but amazon if not, a long time ago it would have been Selectadisc, although now I'm going to be checking out miles of music.
Which blogs do you read?
beth - songs:illinois, keep the coffee coming, the ghost of electricity, nine bullets
howard - too many to list here, songs: illinois is always a pleasure though and Because Midway Still Aren't Coming Back
What songs would you include on the soundtrack to your life? beth - Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe - 'barcelona'
howard - talking heads - 'once in a lifetime'
In 10 years time music will be....
beth - still be music, or possibly beyond my ken
howard - enjoying an early noughties revival
If you could have 3 musicians over to your place, they would be...
beth - merle haggard, harry nilsson & gram parsons howard - Dolly Parton, Mark Eitzel & Sufjan Stevens, I'd have chosen Mark E Smith but you asked for musicians.
Thanks to Beth and Howard, that's a very sweet photo.
Their blog, lonesomemusic (http://lonesomemusic.blogspot.com/) has now been added to my blog roll.
Right, who's next?

I've just stumbled on this from my referrals as I'm rather nicely linked to (I'm Matt from Because Midway Still Aren't Coming Back...), I love Lonesome Music and was very glad to have been mentioned, and even better, I've got a whole new blog to follow here! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for dropping by Matt.
Nice blog, I've added it to my regular rounds :-)
