P45 for UB40's Ali Campbell after 30 years

After 30 years together UB40 lead singer Ali Campbell is to quit the group.
UB40 are a British based reggae band responsible for tracks such as Red Red Wine and There a Rat In My Kitchen.

The band members began as friends who knew each other from various colleges and schools across Birmingham. Before any of them could play their instruments, Ali Campbell and Brian Travers travelled around Birmingham promoting the band, putting up UB40 posters. The band purchased its first instruments from Woodroffe´s Musical Instruments with £4,000 in compensation money that Campbell, who would become the lead singer, received after a bar fight during his 17th birthday celebration.

UB40 will apparently continue to perform with the existing seven members and no replacement for Campbell has been decided upon.
